Uchenna is a university lecturer and board of trustee member of Future Generation University, USA; with a Doctoral degree in Environmental Forest Ecology, two Master of Science degrees in Forestry & Environmental Management and Applied Community Change with Concentration in Conservation respectively, and two post-graduate diplomas in Education and Technology & Sustainable Development respectively; and has over 10 peer-reviewed academic publications. As an international development consultant with over 17 years’ experience in social development work, he has worked at least once in each Nigerian state as an Independent Consultant, providing technical services in Environmental Management, Community and Health Systems Strengthening, Health Management Information System, Development/Analysis of Policies, Monitoring & Evaluation, Baseline Studies, Impact and Partnership Assessments.

Onyeizu has provided development consultancy services in India, Nepal, United States of America, Rwanda, Cameroon, United Kingdom and Namibia. Recently, he participated as the Nigerian representative in a foundational global research on ‘Developing indicators of Peace’ piloted by Future Generations University in collaboration with the United States Institute of Peace.

He was the Team Lead/Project Co-ordinator of a state-wide Monitoring and Evaluation Consultancy Services for the 2010/2011/2012 Debt Relief Gains (DRG) Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) funded Projects and Programmes in Niger State, Nigeria. Some of the international organizations that Uchenna has provided technical assistance (TA) as a national consultant include – Enhancing National Response on HIV/AIDS (ENR) Project, National and State Malaria Elimination Programmes, Support to National Malaria Programme (SuNMaP) and Malaria Action Programme for States (MAPS), in technical areas such as development and roll out of Monitoring & Evaluation modules, Health Logistics Management Information Systems, Health Management Information System (HMIS), Health Data Collection Tools (DCT) and Data Quality Assurance (DQA) tools to strengthening Capacities for Malaria Control in Nigeria; International Health Consultant for Assessment and Evaluation of a Sure Start Centre in Liverpool, United Kingdom, carried-out operations research (OR) for different programmes (Evaluation of Provision of drinking water and healthcare service in rural Hyderabad, India). Uchenna has technically supported different states in Nigeria through wide stakeholders’ engagement and capacity building platforms to develop, review and evaluate their state-level cost development plans and strategies, as well as supported organizations and institutions in identifying institutional and Individual capacity skill competency gaps that led to capacity development plans, implementation and evaluation.

Uchenna’s skills include an in-depth understanding of community working systems in developing countries; linking policy analysis and emerging issues to plans; understanding of pro-poor and gender issues in development, an excellent team player, good interpersonal, report writing and communication skills.
