Mr. Udochukwuka Uchendu is a Lecturer II in the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology, College of Natural Resources and Environmental Management. He has an MSc in Environmental Technology and Management from De Montfort University Leicester, United Kingdom in collaboration with University of Applied Science (Fachhochschule) Emden, Germany and Aalborg Universitet Esbjerg, Denmark, a B.Tech in Environmental Technology (Pollution Control option) from Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) and a HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Telecommunication option) from Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri (FPNO). Before his current position as a lecturer at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Mr Uchendu worked as HSE officer with Chestron Limited Nigeria where he was in charge of carrying out quality control analysis of products and raw materials in accordance to standards and Health and Safety guidelines, prepared, compiled and managed product quality records, material safety data sheets, certificate of analyses and performances; identified and provided timely, accurate and cost-effective solutions to address product quality defects. He also worked briefly with Industria Personnel Services Ltd, the United Kingdom as an Operator, and Diamond Bank Plc, Nigeria, as an Executive Trainee. During his NYSC, Mr. Uchendu served with the department of works at Efon-Alaaye Local Government Council, Ekiti State, Nigeria, and as an Industrial trainee at Phœnix Environmental Services Nigeria Ltd at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. His interest lies in finding more sustainable ways to live in harmony with our environment particularly through sustainable industrial process control, mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable use of energy, development and utilization of renewable forms of energy, recycling of waste materials and waste to energy generation. Mr. Uchendu is an Associate Member of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) where he has professional certificates in General HSE and Advanced HSE.
