Ikwa, LOE Obtained a Bachelors of Agriculture (Hons.) degree in Soil Science from University of Calabar, Nigeria; and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Environmental Technology from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. Presently He is a doctoral student at Micahel OKpara University of Agriculture Umudike with bias in Forest soils.
His areas of research and teaching proficiency spans around Forest soils, Environmental Impact studies; Landscaping and Environmental designs; To cope with the IT demands of his profession, He obtained lT certifications from CISCO Academy, USA.
Ikwa has attended Professional and Management Trainings at various levels including training on specialized skills of selected Agro enterprises sponsored by United States Department for African Development (USDAD) 2010; training on Soil and Groundwater Environment Organized by Korean Society of Soil and Ground water Environment and International Society for Environmental Geotechnology, Seoul, Korea(2014);Multi-donor training course on Environmental Governance/Climate Change, sponsored by BRIDGE foundation Calabar, Nigeria (2012); funding opportunities, Research Grants and e- resources platform, organized by Research Professional Africa(2013) ;and training on Bio pesticides management organized by Bio pesticides Society of Nigeria held in Calabar, Nigeria.(2015).
He was employed as assistant Lecturer in the department of Forestry and Environmental Management, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in 2013 and has risen in ranks.
Professionally,Ikwa is a member of various academic bodies. They include: Member, Bio pesticides Society of Nigeria(BSN); Member, the Nigerian Environmental Study Team (NEST); Soil Science Society of Nigeria (SSN) and Member, Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN)
As an academic staff who believes in team player and excellence, he had served the University Administration in various capacities viz: Chairman, Staff Welfare Committee, Department of Forestry/ Environmental Management 2014; Examination officer for 300L students in the department of Forestry Environmental Management 2013- date.Member, Audit committee on equipment at Center for Molecular and Genetics Engineering. 2015: Member Examination Ethic committee department of Forestry and Environmental Management- MOUAU (2015); CNREM rep for board meetings of other Colleges within the university.
He had successfully supervised undergraduates and post graduate students between 2013- present to his credit.
Ikwa is a beneficiary of some Research Grants & Scholarship awards – USA-Adim Inc scholarship scheme 2003-2006; USA-Adim Inc. scholarship scheme 2016- 2017; Federal Government of Nigeria (FSB Scholar)Award- 2016-18
As part of his service for community development, Ikwa has served as consultant for an Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) study in favor of Feam concept Nigeria Ltd for 55,400,housing unit Estate in Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Imo states Nigeria ; as well as Team Lead for EIA study at Uzuakoli Erosion sites in Abia state sponsored by Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project(NEWMAP) in 2018.Furthermore, he has served as External Examiner where he examined a total of 35 Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates students from Federal College of Land Resources Technology, Owerri Nigeria between 2015-2018.He is an Editorial Member, Journal of Basic and Environmental Sciences, Benha Egypt ;Editorial member AJEST Journal India
He has over 15 articles in local and international revered journals. His hobbies include meeting new people, field work, and surfing on the net.
