Dr. Benson Nwajiobi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from the University of Benin, Edo State, a Master of Science degree (MSc) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Forestry and Environmental Management from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umuudike (MOUAU), Abia State, Nigeria. He did his one year National Service (NYSC) as the Biology Teacher of Okiti Mixed Secondary School Ubulu-Okiti, Delta State in 2005 where his commitment to community service via the Peer Education Training Project earned him Commendation from the National Youth Service Scheme. He worked as the Operations Manager of Obari-Nasemi GB Company Ltd., and the Manager of Chidelavie Resources, Port Harcourt before proceeding on a full time Master of Science (MSC) degree programme in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU). He got appointment from the University as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Management after his Masters degree programme, and later completed his doctorate degree in the same specialty and from the same Department. He has served in several positions besides his teaching, research and students supervisory responsibilities in the University. He has also participated in several local and international conferences and workshops; and has several publications in conference proceedings and reputable journals. He is a member several professional bodies including Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN), Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON), Nigerian Environmental Study/Action Team (NEST) and the Community African Forum on Urban Forestry (CAFUF).

His research interest is in developing environmentally friendly technologies for forestry and agricultural crop production systems, application of silvicultural techniques including molecular biotechnology in tree crop production and forest management for various purposes such as environmental conservation, enhanced fruit production and carbon sequestration. He has received several awards and commendations from reputable institutions and organizations.
